Welcome to SSDBM 2013
The annual SSDBM conference is an international forum for scholarly
discourse on designing, building, analyzing and evaluating scientific and
statistical data management systems and applications. This event will bring
together leading scientific domain experts, practitioners, application
developers and users to exchange cutting-edge insights and experiences, and
to inspire future research directions. The conference will feature a rich
program of research presentations, invited speakers, panel sessions, and
demonstrations of research prototypes and industrial systems that capture
the ever-increasing interdependence between data management, statistical
methods, and scientific research and applications.
In its 25th year, SSDBM will take place in the city of Baltimore, Maryland, between the 29th and 31st of July.
Baltimore, nicknamed "Charm City", is a major seaport located in the
Mid-Atlantic region of the United States. The city features a vibrant and
festive harbor area, many unique neighborhoods and landmarks, and world
class attractions and entertainment from museums and galleries to sporting
events. Baltimore is home to the Johns Hopkins University and the Johns
Hopkins Medical School, an internationally-renowned institution for
excellence in medical research, teaching and patient care. As part of the
Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area, the city offers quick access to the
nation's capitol, as well as the Atlantic coast including Annapolis, Ocean
City, and the Chesapeake Bay.
